History

Thirty-five years ago, Helen Williams and a group of friends decided they wanted to support the "new" Mercy Health - Anderson Hospital.

They pooled their resources and worked tirelessly reaching out to businesses, friends and family to secure sponsors, donors and golfers.

Thus, the beginning of a tradition in our East Market - the Charles M. Barrett Memorial Golf Tournament.

To date, we have raised over $2.4 million for a variety of projects that have helped Mercy Anderson Hospital better serve the health care needs of the community.

The tradition of the Williams family continues through the generous support of Western & Southern and the leadership and commitment
of Mr. John Barrett.

We truly thank everyone who has played a role in providing necessary programs, services and equipment to enhance the care of our patients.

IN MEMORY OF DR. CHARLES M. BARRETT
The Charles M. Barrett Memorial Golf Tournament was established in 1987 to honor Dr. Charles M. Barrett (1913-1989).
Dr. Barrett was one of the founding physicians of
Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Mariemont, the forerunner of Mercy Health – Anderson Hospital.
Dr. Barrett served as Medical Director of the hospital’s department of radiology. He was also President of the Medical Staff,
served as Chairman of the hospital Board of Trustees, and a trustee of the Foundation.
The memory of Dr. Barrett continues through the support of his family and the Western & Southern Financial Group and, for that, we join with the community in thanking them for this ongoing support
